The maternity unit of GSMC has five Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Post-Partum rooms to provide quality 24-hour care of OB/GYN patients in various stages of pregnancy or delivery of infant. In addition, there are seven "observation" rooms in the unit.  Care is provided in a therapeutic, holistic and compassionate manner, which is respectful of the patient’s wishes.
 

The nursing staff, principally Registered Nurses, is dedicated to excellence in their specialty area.  Expertise is maintained by attending perinatal seminars and workshops to update fetal monitoring and other specialty skills.  All OB nurses are certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
