ChiropracticThe Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinic features a comprehensive pain management program that utilizes targeted physical medicine techniques and procedures to treat both acute and chronic pain.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is often called the “quality of life” profession because it’s aim is to enhance patient performance and life satisfaction. Physicians in this profession treat disabilities resulting from disease or injury involving all organ systems. The focus is not on one part of the body, but instead on the development of a comprehensive program to address a patient’s needs – medically, socially, emotionally, and vocationally – after injury or disease. PM&R physicians manage issues that span the entire spectrum: from complicated multiple trauma to injury prevention for athletes. Some PM&R physicians have broad-based practices that encompass many different types of patients. Here at GSMG Physical Medicine and Rehab, our goal is to design a team based treatment plan to empower you, our patient, to reach your full functional potential.

Typical physical medicine techniques and procedures include:

    • Musculoskeletal Procedures
    • Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Joint Injections
    • Headache Injections (Botox/Greater Occipital Nerve Blocks)
    • Electrodiagnostic Procedures
    • Osteopathic Manipulation
    • Physical Therapy
    • Chiropractics

Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic is a safe and effective form of treatment for ailments of the neuromusculoskeletal system. A detailed history and physical exam of the area of the complaint will help the doctor to establish an individualized treatment plan to relieve the patient’s problem.

Treatments are guided by implementing the latest available research and clinical evidence with therapies such as manual therapies, physical therapy modalities, and rehabilitative exercises. An emphasis is also placed on the patient to actively engage in their treatment to better help manage their conditions. This is designed to help minimize their need for ongoing care.
