It is again our pleasure to share
our Annual Report for the
2017-2018 fiscal year.

It is truly a pleasure to be part
of such an amazing team. This

has been another successful

year.

In March 2018, we opened

our new Women’s Center
suite in the north addition of

the Good Shepherd Medical Plaza. This 11,000 square
foot addition was specifically designed to meet the
growing and future needs of women’s services in our
region. This year, we also opened a new Urology suite
in the Good Shepherd Medical Clinic.

Less visible to the physical campus environment (but
equally as important) has been the addition of several
new services. This includes a Fast Track Emergency
Service for low-acuity patients seeking care in the ER
and a Personal Home Care service providing domestic
help and medical services for clients in the comfort
of their own home. Our partnership with the Umatilla
County Fire Department to provide a Community
Paramedic program provides visits to patients upon
discharge to ensure patients are doing well and to

help reduce risks that may lead to readmissions to the
hospital. Our Transitional Care program has brought
community members closer to home to recover from
complex conditions and surgeries that in the past
may have caused extended stays out of the area and
additional economic burden on families.

We also have important new enhancements just
around the corner. In November, we will transition
to Epic – a new electronic health record platform in
partnership with Legacy Health System. This will
culminate a two-year planning and implementation
effort, resulting in enhanced, state-of-the-art medical
records system to better support clinical care. We are
also pleased to be working with Lifeways as they open
their new Aspen Springs Psychiatric Facility later this
fall – a very important resource serving our region.

Our report again reflects a positive operating margin
and a stable financial picture. As a community, we
are blessed, as approximately one-third of Oregon
hospitals are now operating “in the red”.

I hope you will take a moment to read more about
our accomplishments this past year. We look forward
to your comments and deeply appreciate your
confidence and trust in allowing us to serve you.
