Each year Good Shepherd Health Care System hosts the 

12 Days of Giving event, in which we collect donations 

to support other community non-profits in time for the 

Christmas season. GSHCS received just under 700 items 

that were donated to Hermiston Warming Station, Agape 

House, Domestic Violence Services, Eastern Oregon 

Humane Society, Friends of Hermiston Libraries, local  

food pantries, and more!

More than 150 bikers from near and far made the trek from 

Echo, Oregon to Good Shepherd’ campus to donate toys 

to pediatric patients for the 19th Annual Echo Toy Run in 

memory of Al Sells. Sells’ family continue to carry on his 

wish for children at the hospital to have toys during the 

holiday season every year. 

Good Shepherd’s You Are Not Alone Substance Use Awareness Event + Honor Walk was held in April 2023. 300 

community members attended this first annual event. All donations received from the event were designated to the 

Oregon Washington Health Network’s COPES program and local peer drop-in centers to support mental health and 

substance use recovery.
