Good Shepherd’s Soul Care Chaplains,
Gail Cherry, Daren Strong, Kristi Atkins,
Brian Yarbrough and Kirk Ruehl. Good
Shepherd was originally formed by
churches to “guide, nurture, and
protect” the citizens of Umatilla and
Morrow Counties in 1954. On September
29, 2022, 60 area ministers gathered in
Victory Square Park in Hermiston for our
first ever “Soul Care Summit” to reaffirm
that intention. Our chaplains serve the
Soul Care Department with 24-hour
on-call, critical incident peer support,
and bereavement care for patients
and families.
Good Shepherd planted a pinwheel garden to bring awareness to National Child Abuse Prevention Month with help from
our Children’s Center and staff.
