A nearly $4 million capital investment to expand Good
Shepherd’s Children’s Center has more than doubled the
size, allowing us to provide childcare for many more of
our employees. Having a Children’s Center on campus is
a rare accommodation and service not many hospitals
across the country provide. Good Shepherd has been
operating the Children’s Center since 1994. Children’s
Center teachers are required by the State of Oregon
Education Early Learning Division to obtain a minimum
of 15 hours of continuing education each year, 12 of
which must be in Early Childhood Education—our team
maintains a minimum of 25 hours.

The new facility features expanded classrooms, kitchen
and playgrounds with room for future growth. A
huge thanks to our Board of Trustees, leadership and
Children’s Center staff who have been dedicated to this
initiative for the past two years. Together, we are taking
care of our employees & their families so that they can
take care of our patients.
