This charitable giving is made
possible because of the generosity
of neighbors, families, and local
businesses who share in our vision.
The Foundation also raises funds
through two major events, the
Hermiston Festival of Trees and
the Scramble for Scholarships Golf
Tournament.

We also support our communities
through recognition and
appreciation. The Distinguished
Service Awards celebrates
community members who exemplify

leadership, compassion, and civic
pride. This year’s honorees were:

• Man of the Year:

Dave Rademacher

• First Responder of the Year:

Scott Stanton

• Woman of the Year: Kay Edwards
• Outstanding Young Citizen:

Catherine Doherty

• Business of the Year: Rogers Toyota
• Community Champion:

Carlisle Harrison

Another recognition program, “The
Christmas Spirit Award” celebrates
those who embody compassion and
service to others. In December 2024,
Bob Green received this award for
his volunteerism and kindness.

We are grateful for the leadership
of our Foundation Board, including
GSCHF President Dean Fialka, Vice
President Amanda Carnine, and
Secretary/Treasurer Tyler Bendixsen,
as well as the generosity of our
community—from every dollar
donated to every hour volunteered.
