A Transformative
Year at Good
Shepherd Health
Care System
As we reflect on this
fiscal year, it is clear that
Good Shepherd Health
Care System is on an
extraordinary journey of
transformation and growth as
one of the fastest growing mid-size hospitals in the
country. We have boldly launched new service lines,
expanded our existing services, and added remarkable
new talent to our team, all while enhancing access
to care for the communities we serve. I could not be
more proud of our team for this year’s tremendous
accomplishments!
This was a Strategic Planning year to position
our health care system for continued growth and
excellence for the next three years and beyond.
Through our rigorous strategic planning process with
our Board of Trustees, Executive Team, Medical Staff
Leadership, and Department Leaders, we developed
our organization’s new Vision, Mission and Values that
directly embody our dedication to our communities
and our patients.
Vision:
We will be the health care system of choice
for our communities.
Mission:
We will provide compassionate and
exceptional care, close to home, that meets the
needs of our growing community.
Values:
Integrity, Compassion, Accountability,
Respect, Excellence (ICARE)
In just two years’ time, Good Shepherd Health Care
System has set a new standard of care—a testament
to the unwavering commitment of our Board of
Trustees, our medical staff, and our 1,734 (1,107 active
employees, 626 contingent workers) team members.
Together, we have expanded our services to 50
distinct service lines, 80 departments system-wide,
while welcoming 125 new physicians and advanced
practice clinicians to our Medical Staff of more than
200 credentialed providers.
A standout achievement this year was the launch of
the following new service lines critically needed in our
communities including Adult Gastroenterology, Adult
& Child Psychiatry, Audiology (for ages 5 and older),
Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Pulmonology/
Critical Care/Sleep Medicine and Neurology. These
additions represent our promise to bring exceptional
care close to home for our patients.
We have significantly enhanced patient access across
the board. We expanded existing service lines by
adding key team members, new technology and
increased access to care with extended hours and
weekend appointment availability.
• Good Shepherd Urgent Care expanded access to seven
days a week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a new online
appointment booking system to reduce wait times, while
also adding supportive laboratory and X-ray services in-
house for one-stop convenience.
• Good Shepherd Diagnostic Imaging access expanded
to include evening and weekend appointments along
with the addition of new high-end technology backed
by Board-Certified Radiologists offering the lowest-cost
diagnostics in the region.
• Good Shepherd Cancer Center expanded hours to
include select weekend appointments while adding two
outstanding Board-Certified Hematologists & Oncologists
Dr. Cannon Milani and Dr. Farnoush Abar.
