Community Wellness

At Good Shepherd, we focus on wellness and actively promote activities that encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle. Our wellness coordinator provides wellness assessments for individuals, business employees, and groups.

Assessments are provided at Good Shepherd Medical Center as well as onsite for businesses and groups. Exercise and fitness classes are taught on a regular basis and our wellness coordinator is available to meet one-on-one. Education & Wellness Department

Good Shepherd Medical Center is pleased to make available to patients, family, medical personnel, and the public in general a fully functioning Education & Wellness Department. The Education Department is located in the Good Shepherd Clinic wing and consists of a wide variety of resource materials on health, wellness, or disease topics. The Education Department is open weekdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Health information and wellness classes are run regularly at Good Shepherd. Most are without charge. Healthy Communities Coalition

Good Shepherd has taken the lead in forming and providing ongoing support for the Health Communities Coalition. The mission of the Coalition is to work together to help community members adopt proactive healthy lifestyle choices and healthful nutrition. Our motto is “Making Healthy Choices the Easy Choices.”

The Coalition is made up of community partners including representatives from police, fire, schools, healthcare organizations, area businesses owners, community leaders, and volunteers. Areas of focus include: Workplace Wellness, Senior Health Issues, Children’s Health, Hispanic Outreach, and Safe Communities.
