  • Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccine Event at Good Shepherd

    HERMISTON, OR – Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) is offering free COVID-19 vaccines, including initial series (1st & 2nd) and booster (3rd) doses via drive-thru on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 620 NW 11th Street in Hermiston (parking lot next to the Good Shepherd Medical Plaza). No appointment is needed, and community members should bring their vaccination cards with them if applicable.

    During the drive-thru event, Good Shepherd will administer the Moderna vaccine (authorized for those 18 and older) and the Pfizer vaccine (authorized for those 12 and older), the Pediatric Pfizer vaccine (authorized for 5-12 years), as well as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (authorized for those 18 and older). For ages 5 to 14 a parent or guardian must be present. In accordance with Oregon Law, patients 15 and older can self-consent for the vaccine.

    Patients must pre-register for the drive-thru event by printing their registration form located at www.gshealth.org/drivethruvaccines, filling out the form in advance (for each person), and bringing the form with them to the event on February 11. If a patient is unable to print off the pre-registration form, a form will be made available at the event via registration stations – but it will increase their wait time.

    COVID-19 vaccines are also available by appointment at Good Shepherd Medical Group, Primary Care Clinic, Urgent Care and Pediatrics Department for which community members are encouraged to call ahead to schedule. Other local locations offering COVID-19 vaccines are listed on Umatilla County Public Health’s website at https://ucohealth.net/covid-events-new/hermiston.

    Individuals receiving a vaccine should be prepared for 15 minutes of required monitoring after vaccine administration. Community members may call and leave a message on Good Shepherd’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline at 541.667.3426 if they have any questions about vaccinations.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOOSTERS:

    • Moderna Booster (3rd dose)
      • Must be age 18 +
      • Must be 5 months or more after receiving primary series
    • Pfizer Booster (3rd dose)
      • Must be age 12 +
      • Must be 5 months or more after receiving primary series
    • J&J Booster (2nd dose)
      • Must be age 18 +
      • Must be 2 months after receiving first dose
