HERMISTON, OR – Romance, love, chocolate, roses, and lavish gifts are all things that come to mind when thinking of Valentine’s Day – and for the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation (GSCHF) the lavish gift which they received will keep on giving for years to come!
On February 14, 2017, Good Shepherd Health Care System (GSHCS) made the second largest gift in the history of the GSCHF with a donation of $500,000. “This contribution is second only to the John Logan Estate contribution Good Shepherd received, and subsequently passed along to the Foundation,” shared GSHCS President and CEO Dennis Burke.
When asked about the significance of the size of this gift, GSCHF Executive Direct, Bob Green expressed, “This is truly a marvelous gift. With this contribution, we will be able to provide grants to the community to support health initiatives and medical scholarships to local students pursuing a degree in healthcare.”
Since its inception in 1995, the GSCHF has given more than $2.5 million in health-related grants to non-profit organizations within our community and medical scholarships to local students. The Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation is a grassroots, philanthropic organization dedicated to making the northeast Oregon region a healthier, safer, happier, ever more stimulating place to live and raise our families.
