New Year’s Baby Ushers In New Beginnings!
Edgar Orozco II, was welcomed by his admiring parents, Jaqueline Maya and Edgar Orozco on January 3, 2016 at 2:51 a.m. as Hermiston’s first baby of the New Year!
HERMISTON, OR – Hermiston welcomes its first baby of 2016! Edgar Orozco II, was born on January 3 at 2:51 a.m. to Jaqueline Maya and Edgar Orozco at Good Shepherd Health Care System’s (GSHCS) Family Birth Center.
Edgar II was delivered by Leila Keeler, D.O., and had an impressive weight of five pounds and 10 ounces, and came in at 19 inches long. This is the Maya-Orozco family’s first baby. Baby Edgar joins an estimated 10,289 babies born each day in the United States!
Baby Edgar II will undoubtedly run into a few of the predicted hottest baby names for 2016. According to a recent Huffington Post article the hottest baby names will be; Gender neutral names, Simplified names like – Liv, Bo, and Ace, Migratory names – like Maeve, Cohen, and Cruz, Word names for middle names like – Ocean, Love, and Moon, Vintage flower names like – Lily, and Daisy, Old man names for boys like – Clyde, Alfred, and Otto, Directional and Astronomical names like – North, Venus, Jupiter, and Sunny, Names that include a ‘th’ like – Ruth, Theo, and Seth, French baby names like – Ines, Timeo, and Jules, Star Wars names like – Luke and Leia, Anakin, Walker, Veda, Skye, and Hayden, just to name a few!
As for baby Edgar II, he is already well cared for as the GSHCS Family Birth Center welcomed him with a basket of goodies including: baby wipes, a layette, blanket, soothe and glow giraffe, bath soaps and towel, temperature duck, home safety items, case of diapers, and a footprint and handprint baby wall photo frame. His family was so appreciative of the gift and shared, “It was such a great experience. The nurses and doctors were all very supportive, friendly, and caring.” It is estimated that during the first year of life baby Edgar II will use about 2,788 diapers – as calculated by Kids Grow.
On average the GSHCS Family Birth Center delivers 400 babies per year. Services at the Family Birth Center include a comfortable couch and rocking chair, each room is equipped with a Jacuzzi soaking tub to help ease labor discomfort and caring nurses who have Obstetric Nursing Certification, lactation consulting, and support staff.
